First robotic recycling line in Iceland operational with minimal downtime, significantly enhancing efficiency and future scalability.
For IGF, we completed the main civil and mechanical installation for a major upgrade of their construction and demolition waste recycling line. This project included the disassembly and partial replacement of existing conveyors, the installation of new CRS NI conveyor systems, and the integration of advanced robotic waste sorting technology supplied by Waste Robotics.
Our scope included:
- Structural steelwork – installation of walls, platforms, handrails, and supporting structures
- Mechanical installation – conveyors repositioned and aligned for optimal material flow
- Installation of industrial robots for automated sorting and throughput improvement
- Project coordination to minimize production interruptions with only 3 days of planned downtime, despite replacing nearly 70% of the line
